Review of Las Vegas, Nevada

Vegas, the home that everybody dreams about.
Star Rating - 8/14/2021
I went to Vegas to visit, and didn’t want to leave. Vegas had something for everyone, from the down and out, to the well to do, and everybody gets alone, because nobody judges anybody, and to top it off, the city is gorgeous and well maintained, except for the areas where it’s acceptable to be a bit unkempt( the Homeless camps) but that doesn’t spill over, or stop anybody from having fun, in the Common areas. I really enjoyed myself, and the only reason that I left was because I had responsibilities elsewhere, but it’s a great city, and I will recommend it to anyone who is not into a lot of Drama, and just likes to have fun, so yes, I’ll give Vegas 5 out of 5 stars, because it cover everything, and hides nothing, so everybody is free to be themselves, whatever makes them happy, as long as they doesn’t break any Legal Laws, but what you do morally is totally up to you.

Vacations don't make good reviews. A person needs to live in a place for a minimum of one year preferably longer to work out the kinks, get off the sugar high or the bad times that are one offs, to be able to review a city properly . Sorry, but Glad you liked your trip.

I moved to Mesquite Nevada, I'm told it has an old school Vegas vibe. The town is small, but it's beautiful. I came from Bakersfield, California. Mesquite is a major upgrade, and Las Vegas is 70 miles away. I find myself in Vegas about 2-3 times a week. I love the drive through the desert, and I love everything Las Vegas has to offer. I love the Las Vegas skateparks, and restaurants. I've been living in the Las Vegas area for 8 months now and I never want to leave.

Vegas is a great place to visit and have fun. It has a little something for everyone. However, it is no longer a great place to live. bestplaces.net needs to update their population count. We haven't been under a million residents in decades! It is almost 3 million people now. I have been here 35 years. In the last 5-7 years I have seen the big city developers turn our unique city into a wanna be LA or NYC, etc. The glass high rises on the strip are an abomination. There is no more true Vegas character. No more old Vegas feel. Living here now that the Golden Knights and Raiders are here, is getting harder everyday. Traffic is horrendous. Nobody knows how to drive, rent and housing prices are skyrocketing. Forget going to Costco on the weekend or even a weekday now without 'Christimas' type crowds. Just going to the grocery store is a stress inducing event. We have a lot of great stuff to do here and the weather is great 10 months out of the year, but that doesn't change the fact that nothing is 'easy' to do now. I miss my 'old Vegas'. Never thought I'd leave this unique city in the desert but I have been looking at other places to live.
